Welcome to the Southeast Michigan SMART User Group Wiki Site!

Thank you to all you attended and presented at this year's Get SMART Conference, sponsored by Chippewa Valley Schools, Rochester Community Schools REMC 17 and SMART Technologies. We are already looking forward to next year. Please check back for opportunities to present and attend again in 2014.

Session handouts from 3/9/2013 can be found using the tabs on the left.

Both Rochester and Chippewa Valley Schools became part of the SMART family of districts who are in the process of providing this 21st Century Technology to classrooms and students in their districts. As part of that ongoing project, the need for professional development opportunities and sharing of classroom experiences has dictated a need for the education of teaching staff. One vehicle to meet that need is to provide a User Group environment for the staffs of those two districts, and other Southeast Michigan school districts, who are using this interactive whiteboard technology.

Rochester hosted the first User Group conference at Stoney Creek High School during the 2009-10 school year. The second annual conference was held in the Chippewa Valley School District in May 2011. This third annual conference will be held in Rochester Community Schools at Van Hoosen Middle School on Saturday, December 3, 2011.

Our current project is the "Get SMART 2013" User Group Conference, which will be held on Saturday, Mach 9, 2013, at Seneca Middle School, in Macomb, MI. Co-chairpersons for this year's event are Dale Hopkins, Rochester Community Schools Instructional Technology Consultant, Rita Hughes, Chippewa Valley Schools Instructional Technology Coordinator and Sarah White, Chippewa Valley Schools.

Sponsors for this year's event are SMART Technologies, REMC 17, and Rochester and Chippewa Valley Schools Districts.

The purpose of this wiki is to post relevant information for the SMART User Conference, so that teachers who attend can have access to any handouts used during the presentations and to allow those who cannot attend the same access.

Information, handouts and photos from previous conferences can be accessed using the links on the left of this page.
